Job Description

Schulte Hospitality Group is a leading third-party management company with extensive multi-generational expertise in various aspects of the hospitality industry. Our operations span over 200 locations across 38 states in the United States as well as 3 different countries. We proudly manage an eclectic portfolio that includes some of the world's most recognized hotel brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt, along with exceptional independent boutique and lifestyle properties. Our dedication to service excellence and innovative management practices has positioned Schulte Hospitality Group as a trusted leader within the competitive hospitality market, committed to providing guests and clients with superior experiences and memorable stays.

The Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel & Spa, part of the Schulte Hospitality Group, seeks a dynamic and service-oriented Event Planning Manager to join its vibrant team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment within a premier hotel and spa setting. As the Event Planning Manager, you will play a critical leadership role responsible for driving revenue through effective sales strategies and exemplary customer service. You will be instrumental in establishing and expanding the hotel’s clientele by engaging with diverse organizations, associations, and corporate businesses. Your ability to foster client relationships and negotiate competitive contracts will directly impact the hotel's growth and market share.

Working as the Event Planning Manager, you will acquire an in-depth understanding of the hotel brand and strategy, leveraging this knowledge to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve loyalty among guests and clients alike. The role involves proactive outreach through telemarketing, appointments, site tours, cold calls, and responding to inquiries across multiple communication platforms. Providing clients with detailed guidance on hotel facilities and event planning services will be a centerpiece of your responsibilities. Your sales efforts will include negotiating food and beverage packages, function space, room rates, and other hotel services tailored to meet revenue targets.

In addition to client acquisition, maintaining existing accounts with an active follow-up system will be essential for sustained business success. You will ensure that all agreements, proposals, and communications are accurately documented and aligned with company standards, while also monitoring competitors to maintain a competitive edge. This position demands strategic involvement in business and marketing plans along with participation in the budgeting process. The role offers the flexibility to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of event planning within the hospitality industry.

With a competitive salary range from $60,000 to $65,000 per year, this full-time position includes access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support overall well-being and work-life balance. You will be part of a motivated team within a company that values innovation, integrity, and excellence in service delivery. If you have a passion for hospitality and a knack for negotiation and customer relations, this role provides a rewarding career path with ample growth potential within one of the most respected management companies in the hotel industry.
