Job Description
California Online Public Schools (CalOPS) is a pioneering network of six tuition-free online public schools located throughout California, established in 2004. Committed to fostering a supportive and empowering educational environment, CalOPS is dedicated to believing in every student's potential, connecting students to meaningful learning experiences, and empowering families through flexible, accessible education. As WASC-accredited institutions, CalOPS offers a high-quality curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of students in elementary, middle, and high school programs. With a focus beyond traditional academic success, CalOPS promotes positive lifelong strategies essential for student growth and future success. The schools benefit from the flexibility of charter school status, allowing them to innovate and tailor learning approaches that best serve their student communities. CalOPS emphasizes inclusivity, empathy, and educational excellence in all its programs, making it a leading choice for families seeking quality online education within California.
The Events Manager position at California Online Public Schools is a full-time, 12-month role vital to enhancing student and family engagement through the planning, management, and execution of schoolwide events. This role is particularly dynamic and travel-intensive, requiring frequent statewide travel throughout California to various regions. The Events Manager will work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, regional teams, vendors, families, and community partners to coordinate a wide range of in-person events including field trips and engagement opportunities for the entire student body spanning elementary through high school. Key responsibilities include ensuring all events are meticulously organized, compliant with regulations, and aligned with the school's mission and values. Independence in judgment, superior project management skills, and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously are essential for success in this role. Given the virtual nature of the schools, this role provides crucial human connection points and physical engagement for the online community. The position offers an annual salary range of $87,600 to $114,827, commensurate with experience, and provides eligibility for benefits including health coverage and a 401(k) plan. Starting August 3, 2026, the role promises a vibrant and meaningful opportunity to impact education positively and foster community involvement across California's diverse regions.
