This Full-Time Management position is focused on Event Management, based in Tampa, Florida. The Event Manager will be responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating closely with sales, property departments, and customers to ensure high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases. This role primarily handles events of average complexity, ensuring a seamless transition from sales to service and back to sales. A key part of the role is to recognize opportunities for maximizing revenue through upselling and offering enhancements designed to create outstanding event experiences. The Event Manager will greet customers during the event phase and hand off execution details to the Event Operations team, adhering to established standards and policies to ensure accuracy and quality. Responsibilities include managing group room blocks and meeting spaces for average to large-sized groups, identifying and resolving operational challenges, and utilizing current trends in event management and design. The role acts as the liaison between field sales staff and customers, participates in customer site inspections, handles billing accuracy, and solicits feedback to continually improve the event planner experience.
The candidate will be instrumental in delivering exemplary customer service at every stage, empowering employees to do the same, and setting a positive example for guest relations. They will coordinate and communicate event details verbally and in writing, maintain a visible presence to customers throughout the process, and follow up after events to ensure satisfaction and resolve any problems. Leadership responsibilities include conducting formal pre- and post-event meetings, facilitating necessary coordination meetings, and supporting sales and marketing functions by assisting in sales processes, revenue forecasting, and upselling products and services related to the event. Additionally, the role includes human resource activities such as reviewing guest satisfaction cards, observing employee service behaviors, providing feedback, helping implement corrective action plans, and taking initiative to enhance service performance. This position offers an annual salary range between $65,000 and $83,000, and it is bonus eligible, rewarding the Event Manager for outstanding performance. This role is not remote and is based directly at the Marriott location in Tampa, Florida. Job Requirements

- 1-2 years experience in event management or related professional area
- or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major with at least 1 year experience
