Job Description

Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington & Northern Idaho (GSEWNI) is a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to leadership development and community engagement for girls. Covering an expansive geographic area of 67,000 square miles across 29 counties in central and eastern Washington as well as northern Idaho, GSEWNI is headquartered in Spokane, Washington. The organization proudly serves approximately 4,000 girls from kindergarten through 12th grade, supported by a dedicated network of about 2,000 adult volunteers. As a branch of the national Girl Scouts USA, the council follows the mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character to create a positive impact in the world. Recognized as the leading authority on girls’ healthy development, the organization is committed to shaping the leadership landscape for girls well into the future.

The role of Events Manager is a full-time position based in Spokane, offering a competitive hourly wage of $25.00 to $29.00 plus full benefits. This key position focuses on the management and execution of various special events including fundraising and major program events that support the mission and operations of GSEWNI. The Events Manager will handle the entire event lifecycle—from prospect development and sponsor collaboration to event execution and recognition. Key signature events include a formal gala and a unique weekend-long "glamping" event, designed to engage supporters and raise essential funds. Additionally, the role involves planning and organizing a day-long mini convention for girls, along with the development of other programmatic and fundraising events.

This position plays an integral role in fostering relationships with donors, volunteers, sponsors, and event participants, ensuring all events meet their fundraising and budget goals. Responsibilities extend to managing event budgets and securing new donors, coordinating logistics from start to finish, managing vendors and volunteers, and overseeing the event software to facilitate smooth transactions and accurate receipting. A high level of customer service is expected, with timely communication to all involved parties. Collaboration with the Director of Marketing is essential for creating event-related materials such as invitations, signage, sponsor recognition displays, and corporate giving collateral.

The ideal candidate will be proactive in researching and implementing innovative activities and special events to continually enhance the council’s event offerings. The role demands strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, including volunteers and the girls served by the organization. Assistance is also provided to senior leadership, including the CEO and Director of Philanthropy, through preparing thank you letters, managing constituent data, generating reports, and supporting database administration linked to fund development. This multifaceted position requires a passion for the Girl Scouts mission, a firm grasp of nonprofit landscapes, and excellence in project management and event execution.
