Job Description
Our client is a prestigious law firm known for its commitment to excellence in client service and business development. With offices located in key cities including Palo Alto and New York, the firm specializes in providing high-quality legal services across a broad range of practice areas. The firm fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging professional growth and strategic thinking among its employees. This hybrid role offers flexibility with the possibility of working from either the firm's Palo Alto or New York office, blending office interaction with remote work convenience.
The role of Events Manager is pivotal to the firm’s client engagement and business development strategies. This position entails comprehensive responsibility for the planning, management, and execution of a variety of in-person and virtual events that support the firm’s East and West Coast offices. The Events Manager will oversee everything from Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars and webinars to client dinners, receptions, and other marketing initiatives. These events are crucial in fostering strong client relationships and enhancing the firm’s visibility in competitive markets.
Key duties include detailed budget oversight, careful vendor management, logistical coordination, and compliance with both firm policies and external industry regulations. The role demands a strategic mindset to develop innovative event concepts aligned with practice group priorities and broader firm objectives. Successful candidates will be adept at collaborating with business development teams, practice groups, partners, and global event teams to ensure consistent and exceptional client experiences.
The Events Manager will also be responsible for conducting thorough post-event analysis including return on investment measurement and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve future programs. This position requires managing event-related data reporting to support client reviews, practice assessments, and firm-wide knowledge strategies. Compliance with MCLE accreditation standards and advising stakeholders on these requirements is also a vital part of the role. The Events Manager will mentor junior team members, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on high performance and professional development.
The candidate must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage crises and solve problems effectively under pressure. Keeping abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging event technologies is essential to maintain the firm's events at the forefront of innovation. This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact the firm's growth and client engagement success with competitive compensation and hybrid working arrangements.
