Job Description
Aurelian is a pioneering technology company dedicated to enhancing emergency response systems through innovative AI solutions. Focused on improving public safety infrastructure, Aurelian develops advanced AI tools designed specifically for 911 centers. These tools help emergency telecommunicators handle calls more efficiently and effectively, ensuring they can concentrate on critical tasks while maintaining high-quality service to communities. By alleviating the workload through cutting-edge AI, Aurelian is transforming how emergency communication centers operate, addressing a nationwide issue of understaffing and call overload.
At the core of Aurelian's product suite is AVA, a conversational AI agent that manages non-emergency calls independently. AVA handles call routing, triaging, and resolution without requiring human intervention, focusing on administrative or less critical calls such as noise complaints, lost pets, or parking inquiries. By routing these types of calls away from human dispatchers, AVA eliminates long hold times, allowing telecommunicators to devote their attention exclusively to true emergencies.
Complementing AVA is CORA, a real-time on-screen assistant for emergency call operators. CORA provides telecommunicators with step-by-step standard operating procedure (SOP) checklists, timely reminders, and dynamic guidance based on the call context. This technology aids dispatchers in responding calmly and consistently during high-stress emergency calls. In cases where AVA detects an emergency during a non-emergency call, it seamlessly transfers the caller to a human operator along with critical caller details, location data, incident type, and key statements, ensuring no time is wasted for telecommunicators to gather essential information.
The challenges Aurelian addresses are significant. Emergency communication centers across the United States operate with a staffing shortage averaging 30%. This shortfall results in increased employee burnout and attrition, further exacerbating the problem. Additionally, the majority of incoming calls—between 60% and 80%—are non-emergencies that divert resources away from urgent cases. Aurelian’s dual approach with AVA and CORA mitigates these issues by reducing unnecessary call volume and enhancing emergency call management, ultimately improving community safety outcomes.
Presently, Aurelian is operational across numerous centers nationwide, handling thousands of non-emergency calls daily. The company is backed by prominent investors, including New Enterprise Associates and Y Combinator, which supports its rapid growth trajectory. As Aurelian expands its impact, it seeks talented professionals motivated by meaningful work to join the team and contribute to scaling innovative public safety technologies.
We are currently looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Events Manager to take full ownership of planning and executing Aurelian’s extensive event portfolio. This is a full-time individual contributor role that reports directly to leadership within a lean team environment. The Events Manager will be responsible for managing between 70 and 90 events annually, ranging from small activities to large-scale industry trade shows. The majority of time will be dedicated to event execution, including logistics management, vendor coordination, tracking budgets, timelines, on-site operations, and post-event analysis. A smaller portion of time will focus on strategic event planning, budgeting, and continual improvement of event program efficiencies.
This role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and leadership teams to align event initiatives with broader company goals. The Events Manager will ensure all event details are meticulously managed, no critical steps are overlooked, and that the entire event lifecycle runs smoothly. Continuous process optimization and innovative idea generation to enhance event impact and efficiency will be key responsibilities. The position also requires approximately 25% travel to support on-site event execution and troubleshooting.
This role provides a unique platform to influence the company’s public presence, contribute directly to business outcomes, and play a vital part in advancing Aurelian’s mission to transform emergency communications nationwide. The compensation range for this position is $85,000 to $125,000 annually. Aurelian also offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to do meaningful work in a dynamic and impactful environment.
