Job Description
Located on Savannah's revitalized riverfront, The Alida is a distinguished 173-room hotel that embodies the spirit of Southern hospitality coupled with modern living. The hotel pays homage to Alida Harper Fowlkes, a celebrated entrepreneur who helped shape the city's culture and business landscape. This establishment is proud to welcome guests into an environment that reflects both timeless Southern charm and the vibrant contemporary culture of Savannah. Guests enjoy a unique experience that integrates refined comfort with the rich history and energy of the local community.
Within this elegant and dynamic atmosphere, the role of Events Manager is vital to maintaining the hotel's reputation for excellence. As a key liaison, the Events Manager is responsible for orchestrating all aspects of event execution, ensuring that each function is seamless, memorable, and perfectly aligned with guest expectations. This position demands a combination of visionary planning and hands-on management skills. The successful candidate thrives both in overseeing operations across multiple departments and in providing direct support and supervision to their team.
The Events Manager will guide clients through venue tours, translate ideas into detailed banquet event orders, and collaborate closely with the banquet and sales departments to coordinate logistics and optimize guest experiences. They actively monitor group room blocks, generate comprehensive resumes for operational teams, and maintain meticulous records of contracts, event orders, and invoices. This role requires exemplary organizational abilities, effective communication, and a guest-first mentality that exemplifies approachable and professional hospitality.
Embracing the Makeready collection's dedication to team wellness and development, The Alida offers a robust benefits package designed to enhance the health, happiness, and financial security of its team members. This includes accommodating paid time off, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, maternity and paternity leave, pet insurance, a company-matched dependent care program, 401k plans, a student loan repayment program, and a broad range of ancillary benefits. The company culture is built on inclusivity, respect, and the instinctive practice of its guiding principles to foster a supportive and high-achieving work environment.
The Events Manager position is ideal for a motivated professional with prior experience in event management, a keen understanding of property amenities, and the desire to create exceptional experiences. Working at The Alida means contributing to a respected brand that values individuality and excellence. This role offers an opportunity to engage in creative problem-solving, collaborate across teams, and play a pivotal part in bringing extraordinary events to life in one of Savannah's most prestigious hotels.
