Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED with 1-2 years experience in event management
- OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with at least 1 year experience
- knowledge of event management procedures and event design trends
- excellent communication and customer service skills
- ability to lead and facilitate meetings
- experience in working with sales and marketing teams
- strong problem-solving and operational challenge management skills
- ability to deliver and promote exceptional customer service
- leadership skills to manage and coordinate event teams
Job Duties
- prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments
- manage event logistics to ensure seamless event progression
- greet customers during event phase and hand-off to event operations team
- ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients
- manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
- identify operational challenges and develop solutions
- act as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout event process
- participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
- deliver excellent customer service throughout customer experience
- empower employees to provide excellent customer service
- coordinate and communicate event details to customer and property operations
- oversee customer experiences from file turnover through post-event phase
- follow up with customer post-event
- respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
- conduct formal pre- and post-event meetings for assigned groups
- facilitate meetings such as banquet event orders and block reviews
- assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
- up-sell products and services during event process
- review and provide feedback to employees on service behaviors
- develop and implement corrective action plans
- work with property staff and customers to address operational challenges
- perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
