This full-time role focuses on the supervision and management within the Banquet/Catering department, which is a key operational area in providing exceptional event and dining experiences to guests. The position entails developing, implementing, and managing strategic operational goals aimed at meeting performance and profit objectives. A successful candidate will be responsible for creating efficient staff schedules that align with labor cost targets while maintaining superior guest satisfaction. Budget management is a significant part of this role, including assisting in budget development and ensuring departmental compliance with financial initiatives.
Customer service excellence is paramount; the role involves enthusiastically supporting and promoting high service standards and addressing customer issues proactively to enhance guest experiences. Oversight of banquet and catering equipment maintenance and ensuring facilities are clean, well-stocked, and operationally ready form essential duties. Additionally, the role requires handling financial aspects related to deposits, billing, and credit approval for clients, alongside event planning, execution, and revenue generation. This involves proactive sales efforts through referrals, community marketing, and networking to exceed revenue targets.

Job Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university or minimum four years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous Food and Beverage experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve conflicts diplomatically
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to issues
- Ability to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university or four years of previous supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous Food and Beverage experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to interact diplomatically with guests, staff, and colleagues to resolve conflicts
- Strong report writing, business correspondence, and procedure manual skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, percents, and interpret bar graphs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels
- High energy level with a proactive and strategic problem-solving approach
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Supervise and manage staff in the Banquet/Catering department
- Develop and implement operational goals and monitor achievement of performance and profit objectives
- Create effective and efficient staff schedules maintaining labor costs and meeting staffing objectives
- Assist in budget planning and ensure compliance with departmental budget initiatives
- Promote and demonstrate superior customer service and resolve customer issues
- Assist clients with special requests ensuring exceptional guest service
- Ensure Banquet/Catering equipment is operational and maintained
- Maintain cleanliness and stock of Banquet/Catering facilities
- Handle deposits, billing, and credit approval for clients
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise execution of event functions ensuring excellent dining experience
- Generate new and repeat business to meet revenue targets through various marketing techniques
- Ensure regulatory compliance and report issues to management
- Maintain confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
