The role of Events Manager at Orion is pivotal in planning, organizing, and executing corporate events that support the organization’s objectives and enhance its brand image. The role also demands exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively at all organizational levels. Creativity in event concept development, proficiency with event management software, and financial acumen for managing event budgets are essential. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and travel up to 15% annually is required. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence at least three days per week at the Omaha, NE location.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate events strategy aligned with the organization's goals and brand identity
  • Collaborate with senior management to understand event objectives, themes, and key messages
  • Conduct thorough event needs assessments to determine scope, budget, and resources
  • Create detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for each event
  • Oversee event logistics including catering, audiovisual needs, and event registration
  • Manage event timelines and critical path milestones
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and suppliers for seamless event logistics
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop event concepts, themes, branding, and collateral
  • Develop and manage event budgets ensuring cost-effective planning
  • Conduct financial analysis and negotiate with vendors
  • Track and monitor event expenses and provide reports
  • Liaise with external vendors and contractors managing contracts and relationships
  • Serve as primary contact for event inquiries providing exceptional customer service
  • Work with marketing and communications to develop promotion and communication strategies
  • Utilize marketing channels to drive event awareness and registrations
