Job Description

Known for its vibrant congregation and impactful mission, Lakewood Church focuses on bringing individuals together to experience faith in action, fostering a supportive and spiritual environment that uplifts its members and the broader community. As a pivotal part of this mission, the church organizes numerous events throughout the year, ranging from small meetings to large-scale ministry events, all designed to engage and support its members and outreach initiatives.

The role of Events Coordinator I within Lakewood Church’s Events Department is critical in ensuring the seamless execution of these events. This non-exempt position involves a hands-on approach to the planning, coordination, and management of event logistics. Reporting directly to the Events Assistant Director, the Events Coordinator I will be responsible for overseeing every facet of an event’s lifecycle, from initial planning stages through to post-event follow-up. This includes managing travel arrangements, coordinating setup and teardown processes, and ensuring compliance with all contracts, policies, and event guidelines. The position demands exceptional organizational skills, strong communication capabilities, and the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a dynamic, event-focused environment.

Candidates for this position must be detail-oriented and possess excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal departments, ministries, and external vendors. The role requires maintaining strong, professional relationships, providing stellar customer service, and managing event documentation such as work orders and purchase orders accurately and promptly. In addition, the Events Coordinator I acts as a vital link that supports the broader goals of Lakewood Church by embodying its faith values and engaging actively as a spiritual leader within the community. This includes regular participation in church services and ministries, reflecting the church’s core beliefs and mission in all professional and personal conduct.

This position demands flexibility, including the ability to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules, and requires the capability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Applicants should have a minimum of three years of event planning or coordination experience, with some college coursework preferred, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted, supporting the logistical needs of event setups and breakdowns.

Joining Lakewood Church as an Events Coordinator I offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a faith-driven organization known for its impactful ministry work, a supportive team environment, and a commitment to spiritual growth alongside professional development. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about both event coordination and serving a greater spiritual mission, providing a unique blend of administrative responsibilities and ministry-related duties integral to the church’s ongoing success and outreach efforts.
