Job Description
CIC, a pioneering leader in the innovation and coworking space industry, is seeking an Event Coordinator to join their dynamic Massachusetts team. Established in 1999 in Cambridge, MA, CIC has built and connected thriving innovation communities across North America, Europe, and Asia. Their approach combines flexible office spaces, coworking areas, laboratories, and event venues designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and community among startups, accelerators, and innovation arms of major corporations. CIC's campus in Cambridge, located at One Broadway and 245 Main Street, is at the heart of Kendall Square, providing members access to elite research institutions such as MIT and the Broad Institute, along with other key corporate neighbors.
The role of Event Coordinator at CIC is an exciting full-time opportunity, perfect for someone with 1-2 years of professional experience in event planning and coordination. This position offers a salary starting at $55,000 per year and comes with a comprehensive benefits package including fully company-paid healthcare and dental insurance, long and short-term disability, life insurance, 401(k) with eligibility after 21 years of age, and three weeks of vacation plus thirteen holidays from day one. The successful candidate will be an essential part of the CIC MA Events team, working closely with internal teams across Concierge, Operations, Marketing, and Sales to deliver seamless, engaging, and well-managed events.
Your daily responsibilities will range from coordinating event logistics—including intake, vetting requests, issuing quotes, payment collection, and administrative approvals—to hands-on event support such as audio/visual setup and troubleshooting, space arrangement, and client engagement. The role demands flexibility as events may occur between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm EST Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend events approximately once a month. The position requires physical activity such as moving AV equipment, furniture, and managing event spaces, combined with significant computer and multi-platform work.
CIC values a service-minded, energetic, and organized professional who relishes working independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and proactive, able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and comfortable in fast-paced environments that require multi-tasking and adaptability. This role is not just about logistics but also about building and sustaining positive client relationships, troubleshooting in real-time, and contributing creatively to the innovation ecosystem's mission. CIC's workplace culture emphasizes respect, kindness, accountability, helping others with pride and care, problem-solving, resilience, and delivering dependable results. CIC is also committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, welcoming all candidates regardless of background and providing accommodations where needed.
