Job Description

Charles River Center is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and special needs. Located in the vibrant community around the Charles River, this center has a longstanding reputation for delivering innovative programs and services that foster independence, inclusion, and personal growth. The center's mission revolves around empowering individuals through tailored support, community engagement, and by fostering enriching experiences that highlight abilities rather than limitations. As a community-centric organization, the Charles River Center collaborates with families, volunteers, donors, and local businesses to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. The organization is known for its dynamic approach to development and fundraising, relying heavily on community support and strategic events to fuel its programs and outreach efforts.

The Events Coordinator role at Charles River Center is a pivotal position within the development team, responsible for orchestrating fundraising events that are in harmony with the center's overall mission, objectives, and brand identity. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who excels at managing complex event logistics, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring that each event generates a significant impact both in terms of awareness and fundraising results. The Events Coordinator will take full ownership of event planning and execution, from initial conception through to post-event follow-up, thereby playing a crucial role in enhancing donor engagement and sustaining the organization's financial health.

This position involves close collaboration with internal teams including marketing and communications, volunteer coordinators, and leadership, as well as external partners such as vendors, sponsors, and community members. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, blending creativity with strategic planning to oversee event logistics, catering arrangements, venue setup, and timeline management. Beyond logistics, the role incorporates a strong marketing dimension, requiring the development and implementation of marketing strategies that boost event visibility, attendance, and donor participation. Additionally, the Events Coordinator manages the intricate details of auction logistics, fundraising budgets, and donor communications to ensure transparency and effective stewardship.

This role is perfectly suited for an individual who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and who is passionate about creating memorable experiences that inspire community support. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with events spread throughout the year, including four major signature events that the coordinator will lead. Flexibility is essential, as some events and planning activities may extend into evenings or weekends. The role also offers a hybrid work model with primarily in-person responsibilities, providing some remote work opportunities.

Joining the Charles River Center team means becoming part of a community-focused organization dedicated to making a meaningful difference. The Events Coordinator not only contributes to the operational success of fundraising efforts but also helps strengthen relationships with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders, crucial to the center’s ongoing mission of empowerment and inclusion. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced events professional looking to apply their skills in a purpose-driven nonprofit setting, combining their passion for event coordination with a commitment to social impact.
