Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- ability to work on weekends or evenings as required
- must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on company’s automobile insurance policy
- ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time
- frequent sitting, handling, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing
- occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds
- physical and mental ability to travel via small aircraft, ferry, and watercraft in extreme weather
- maintain regular and punctual attendance
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning, coordination, or administrative roles
- exceptional organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders
- proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms
- understanding of Alaska Native culture and ANCSA landscape preferred
- bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations preferred or equivalent work experience
Job Duties
- Plan and oversee all event logistics including venue layout, catering, transportation, and audio/visual equipment
- research, select, and manage relationships with vendors and talent
- maintain and adhere to event budgets ensuring profitability or cost-efficiency
- manage on-site event setup, execution, and teardown to resolve issues
- assist in creating marketing materials and tracking attendee RSVPs
- manage invitations, guest lists, event materials, volunteers, and post-event surveys
- work flexible hours including weekends or evenings as required by event schedules
