Job Description

Fresno Mission is a respected non-denominational, evangelical ministry dedicated to transforming lives in the Fresno community through compassionate outreach programs. This organization provides essential services such as food, shelter, clothing, education, job training, and family renewal for individuals struggling with poverty and addiction. Fresno Mission's core mission is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ while addressing the practical needs of those they serve, fostering both physical and spiritual renewal.

The Events Coordinator plays a crucial role within Fresno Mission's Development Team, working closely with the Manager of Business Partnership and the Chief Strategy Officer. This position focuses on coordinating internal events on the City Center campus and supporting fundraising efforts at various locations. The coordinator’s responsibilities range from managing administrative tasks related to small-scale gatherings to aiding in the execution of large-scale events that may attract hundreds or even thousands of participants. The role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple timelines, vendor communications, and logistical details effectively.

As a primary liaison between staff, renters, and external vendors, the Events Coordinator ensures that all event aspects—from scheduling and communication to payment tracking—are handled with precision and professionalism. These events support the Mission's overall fundraising goals and community engagement efforts, which are critical for sustaining the ministry's programs. The role also involves working closely with the development staff to promote donor engagement through various giving and volunteering opportunities, helping to maximize the impact of each fundraising event.

The ideal candidate for this role is not only detail-oriented and highly organized but also possesses a compassionate and dependable character aligned with Fresno Mission’s values. Proficiency with email communication, Microsoft 365 applications, and database management is essential, as these tools are frequently used to coordinate and track event-related activities. Trustworthiness and discretion with confidential information are paramount, especially given the sensitive nature of the ministry's work.

This position requires adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving work environment. Some events may require availability during evenings or weekends, highlighting the need for flexibility. Fresno Mission values team players who contribute positively to the Development Team and the broader organizational mission.

In addition, being part of Fresno Mission means embodying a mature walk with Jesus Christ. The Events Coordinator must be able to articulate Biblical beliefs and apply them in a ministry context. This role is not just a job but a calling to serve others by advancing the gospel through transformational service and outreach efforts. Candidates who share a passion for ministry and outreach, combined with exceptional event coordination skills, will find this role fulfilling and impactful.
