The role of the Events & Sponsorships Manager at EDPR North America is a pivotal position responsible for orchestrating the planning and execution of numerous events, sponsorships, and various company activations. These efforts are designed to enhance engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders, including customers, utilities, industry partners, communities, governments, trade associations, and employees. The manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that all events and sponsorships authentically represent EDPR's brand, values, and strategic goals.
Reporting to the North American division and based in Houston, Texas, this full-time, hybrid role (requiring three days in the office and two remote) demands a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a minimum of seven years' experience in event management, sponsorship coordination, or marketing project management. The Events & Sponsorships Manager handles a broad scope of responsibilities, including planning industry conferences, summits, networking receptions, and milestone celebrations like groundbreakings and ribbon-cuttings. They manage comprehensive event logistics such as venue selection, vendor coordination, audiovisual production, catering, and promotional material preparation.
Collaboration is key, as the manager works cross-functionally with development, government affairs, communications, brand, commercial, operations, and executive teams to align objectives and messaging. They are responsible for negotiating and managing sponsorships with renewable energy conferences, trade associations, community initiatives, and more, ensuring these partnerships align with EDPR's brand standards and strategic priorities. Budget management and financial reconciliation are also critical components of the position, requiring adept oversight to maximize cost efficiency and ensure quality execution.
Furthermore, the Events & Sponsorships Manager spearheads the creative development of branded materials and engagement concepts that enhance stakeholder experiences and reinforce EDPR's leadership in the renewable energy space. Post-event evaluation and reporting are integral to this role, involving the analysis of key metrics to continuously improve event and sponsorship strategies. Travel up to 30% of the time within North America is expected to support the on-site execution of events and represent the company externally.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of experience in event management, sponsorship coordination, or marketing project management preferably in renewable energy, infrastructure, corporate, or agency settings
- Experience managing events from contract negotiation through execution and post-event reporting
- Proven negotiation and vendor management skills
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and budget management abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive mindset
- Professional fluency in English
- Portuguese proficiency is a plus
- Ability to effectively interface with executive leadership
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift items up to 10 pounds
- Ability to communicate and understand safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years’ experience in event management, sponsorship coordination, or marketing project management
- Proven track record in end-to-end event management including contract negotiation and vendor selection
- Strong vendor negotiation and management skills
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and budget management capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
- Professional fluency in English
- Portuguese proficiency is a plus

Job Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and execute EDPR NA-owned and sponsored events including industry conferences, summits, and community milestone celebrations
- Manage end-to-end event logistics such as venue selection, vendor coordination, catering, audiovisual production, signage, branded materials, and travel arrangements
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and post-event reports to ensure operational excellence
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align event objectives, messaging, and stakeholder engagement goals
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage sponsorship opportunities across key markets including renewable energy conferences and community initiatives
- Track event and sponsorship budgets, manage vendor payments, and coordinate financial reconciliations
- Lead post-event evaluations by analyzing key performance indicators and providing insights for continuous improvement
