Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience in event management, fundraising, or community relations preferably in healthcare or higher education
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale events with significant sponsorship and participant goals
  • Exceptional written communication skills including experience in newsletter production
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to build relationships with high-net-worth donors, physicians, community partners, and volunteers
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience in event management, fundraising, or community relations preferably in healthcare or higher education
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale events
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong project management abilities
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with 'Grateful Patient' fundraising programs preferred
  • Familiarity with third-party fundraising platforms and peer-to-peer software preferred
  • Knowledge of New Orleans philanthropic landscape preferred
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or similar credential preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead and scale multiple signature fundraising events including the Wave Makers 5K, TUHVI Heart Event, and CALM mental health initiatives building upon $100k+ revenue and 1000+ participants through strategic growth initiatives
  • Manage comprehensive event logistics and execution including race-course coordination, vendor negotiations, venue selection, participant registration, and day-of operations utilizing third party platforms
  • Coordinate physician and patient engagement by recruiting patient hosts for donor dinners, facilitating physician participation across specialties, and maintaining high-touch cultivation events while meeting fundraising targets
  • Develop year-round engagement and cultivation strategies to maintain momentum between events, create consistent brand experiences and identify grateful patient prospects for major gift opportunities
  • Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with community organizations, corporate sponsors, and civic leaders to expand event reach and raise awareness for clinical programs
  • Research, build, and launch a third-party fundraising framework by studying peer institution models, creating toolkits, application processes, and guidelines
  • Serve as primary liaison for external fundraisers providing strategic guidance, resources and support while ensuring fund allocation aligns with institutional priorities
  • Integrate patient-facing community events under the Grateful Giving umbrella to create consistent brand experiences, identify cultivation opportunities and convert attendees into long-term donors
  • Develop scalable peer-to-peer fundraising strategies leveraging digital platforms to empower volunteers and community advocates
  • Oversee production and distribution of the biannual Tulane Wellness Wire newsletter, collaborating with clinical staff to identify compelling patient impact stories
  • Draft and edit content showcasing patient impact, community health outcomes, and physician-led clinical innovations
  • Facilitate marketing and brand coordination ensuring event collateral, websites, and social media align with Tulane branding and Grateful Giving mission
  • Develop and execute multi-channel marketing and social media campaigns to amplify Tulane’s impact story and drive event engagement
