The position of Events and Programs Specialist is a full-time role based at Wesley Glen, located at 5155 N. High St, Columbus, OH 43214. The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with weekend rotations included. This dynamic role is centered around planning, developing, and coordinating a wide range of events and programs that engage residents and their families in enjoyable and enriching activities. The specialist is responsible for creating an environment that supports wellness and enjoyment throughout the organization. Key responsibilities include leading innovative community events, organizing volunteer efforts, preparing activity assessments and regulatory documentation, arranging transportation for outings, and implementing wellness and passive exercise programs in nursing units.

Job Requirements
- CNA certification preferred
- 2 years of experience in social or recreational programming in health care setting working with residents dementia preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated creativity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

- Experience in social or recreational programming in a healthcare setting working with residents, dementia preferred
Job Duties
- Participates in planning and leads creative community events and programs of interest to residents and families
- Organize volunteers
- Prepares activity assessments and MDS for each resident according to regulatory requirements and completes participation in Caretracker
- Assists with arranging transportation to events, programs and field trips as necessary
- Implements passive exercise and wellness programs on the nursing units
