The role of Events & Programs Specialist at Life Enriching Communities is a full-time position located in Wesley Woods, New Albany, Ohio, with a rotating schedule between Monday through Friday and Tuesday through Saturday shifts. This role is crucial in enriching the lives of residents by planning, developing, and coordinating diverse events and programs that cater to their interests and enhance their engagement. The specialist serves as a creative force behind community activities, working collaboratively with other departments and engaging with the broader community to integrate wellness and social interaction throughout the facility.

This position requires exceptional creativity and excellent listening skills to design programs that meet the needs and preferences of residents and their families. The Events & Programs Specialist is responsible for organizing volunteers, completing regulatory-required activity assessments, and maintaining detailed records to meet compliance standards. Additionally, the role includes facilitating transportation for residents to participate in outings and implementing wellness and passive exercise programs, which are vital in promoting physical and mental health among seniors. This role not only involves event planning but also demands a compassionate approach to working with seniors, especially those dealing with dementia, to ensure their quality of life is continually enriched.

Job Requirements

  • CNA certification preferred
  • 2 years of experience in social or recreational programming in a health care setting working with residents with dementia preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated creativity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Duties

  • Participates in planning and leads creative community events and programs of interest to residents and families
  • Organizes volunteers
  • Prepares activity assessments and MDS for each resident according to regulatory requirements and completes participation in Care tracker
  • Prepares progress notes per regulatory standards
  • Assists with arranging transportation to events, programs and field trips as necessary
  • Implements passive exercise and wellness programs on the nursing units
  • Other duties as assigned
