The Events & Operations Manager position at Clark University is a full-time, exempt role based in Worcester, MA, focused on managing and optimizing the School of Climate, Environment, and Society (CES) event strategy and operational workflows. This role involves strategic planning, administration, and operational oversight, requiring a blend of leadership, collaboration, and independent judgment to support a wide range of academic, student, and community initiatives. The Events & Operations Manager is a pivotal operational partner to school leadership, responsible for aligning CES events with academic calendars and institutional priorities, and developing standards and processes that enhance event planning and execution while promoting operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include developing and overseeing comprehensive event strategies, handling logistics for major academic and recruitment events, and designing efficient operational workflows to streamline academic administration and school operations. The role also requires close collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure seamless event execution and promotional alignment with institutional messaging. With the autonomy to make significant operational decisions, the manager fosters a culture of continuous improvement through data analysis and process innovation. This position also shares in the collective responsibility of managing pooled administrative functions during peak academic times, emphasizing teamwork and leadership within the CES operations team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in event management, operations, academic administration, or program management
  • Ability to manage programs with minimal supervision
  • Experience developing operational processes
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and administrative systems

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in event management, operations, academic administration, or program management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage programs or operations independently
  • Experience developing administrative processes or operational plans
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and event management systems
  • Experience in higher education or academic environments preferred
  • Experience managing complex events or multi-department operations preferred
  • Experience supervising projects or program workflows preferred
  • Familiarity with Acalog or similar academic operations systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Develop and oversee CES event strategy including categories, planning standards, and timelines
  • Manage planning and execution of major academic, recruitment, and student events
