Job Description

Apartment Life is a community-centered organization dedicated to enhancing the living experience of residents in apartment communities through thoughtfully planned events and genuine engagement. Operating throughout numerous multifamily housing complexes, Apartment Life's mission centers on creating vibrant, connected, and supportive environments for residents and staff alike. This organization integrates values of hospitality, care, and meaningful personal connections into the fabric of day-to-day apartment living. By blending excellent event planning with compassionate outreach, Apartment Life seeks to cultivate a sense of belonging and mutual support, ultimately enriching the lives of individuals and communities.

The role of Events and Ministry Coordinator is a unique, non-paid opportunity tailored for individuals who are passionate about community building and ministry through practical, business-minded applications. Coordinators are entrusted with the responsibility of designing and executing social and community-oriented events that foster connections among residents and create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the organization's mission. This position focuses on infusing apartment communities with acts of kindness, hospitality, and purpose-driven engagement. It offers a platform for motivated, relational individuals to practice leadership and ministry skills while directly impacting residents' quality of life.

This role demands a combination of organizational acumen, interpersonal skills, and spiritual commitment. Coordinators plan and host at least two events each month, crafting opportunities for residents to interact socially and connect with services and local businesses. They maintain active communication with residents and staff, extend genuine care, address individual and communal needs, and invite residents to enhance the community's online reputation through testimonials and shared experiences. Along with event planning, coordinators develop marketing materials such as monthly calendars, flyers, and social media content to promote engagement.

The coordinator also manages the event budgeting process, prepares monthly summaries, and collaborates closely with staff and program directors to align efforts with organizational goals. Managing a network of volunteers, vendors, and community partners maximizes impact and extends support throughout the apartment community. Regular resident visits ensure a personal connection is maintained, particularly welcoming new residents and touching base with those nearing the end of their lease.

Ideal candidates for this position are mission-driven, highly relational, and responsible individuals who enjoy interacting with others and have a heart for ministry and community care. While experience in event planning, budgeting, and social media is advantageous, the core qualifications focus on commitment, accessibility, and the desire to foster God's unconditional love in a practical, community-oriented way. The role requires availability mainly during evenings and weekends when residents are most present. This position exemplifies doing 'business as ministry,' where excellence in professional duties is harmonized with a servant’s heart and a community-first ethos, offering a unique blend of social impact and spiritual growth opportunities.
