Job Description
Apartment Life is a unique community-focused organization dedicated to creating vibrant and welcoming apartment environments where residents feel connected, cared for, and part of a larger community. Our mission is to blend excellent apartment living experiences with acts of genuine care and radical hospitality, ensuring every resident enjoys a warm and engaging atmosphere. As an Apartment Life organization, we operate with a deep commitment to serving residents by fostering a sense of belonging and facilitating meaningful connections among neighbors. Our approach combines practical event planning with compassionate outreach, helping residents not only enjoy their living spaces but also develop lasting relationships and a strong community network. We believe in integrating faith-based principles with excellent business practices, embodying the concept of "business as ministry" to serve both residents and staff with passion and professionalism.
Regarding the role of Events and Ministry Coordinator, this is a volunteer position focused on enriching the apartment life experience for residents in the community. Coordinators serve as the heart of the community, passionately planning and executing engaging social events and activities that foster connection and well-being. This role is perfect for mission-minded, relational individuals who enjoy meeting new people, facilitating community engagement, and helping others experience God's unconditional love. Coordinators organize two events per month designed to connect residents with one another as well as local businesses and services, providing opportunities for fun, care, and fellowship.
In addition to event coordination, the role requires creating marketing materials such as monthly calendars, event flyers, and social media posts to promote activities effectively. Coordinators are also responsible for managing event budgets, preparing monthly summaries, and collaborating closely with staff and program directors for ongoing planning, equipping, and development. The position involves engaging a support team comprising volunteers, vendors, and community partners to maximize the impact of events, as well as connecting personally with residents shortly after their move-in or when they are nearing the end of their lease. This personal outreach underscores the deep relational aspect of the role, ensuring residents feel noticed and cared for within the community.
While this is an unpaid position, it offers a meaningful way to contribute to the community and make a positive difference in the lives of apartment residents. Coordinators gain valuable experience in event planning, community engagement, communication, and leadership, all within a supportive and mission-driven environment. This role requires a commitment of weekly hours, especially during evenings and weekends when residents are most available. Physical stamina is also necessary to handle tasks such as carrying supplies and moving around the community. Ultimately, the Events and Ministry Coordinator position is ideal for individuals who seek to combine their organizational talents with a heart for service and community-building.
