Job Description
Apartment Life is a unique ministry-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the community experience within apartment living. This organization believes in combining excellence in business with a heart for ministry, making every interaction an opportunity to share unconditional love and care. Operating in various apartment communities, Apartment Life fosters connections and builds meaningful relationships among residents, staff, and local businesses. The organization’s mission centers on creating an environment where people feel cared for and connected through thoughtfully planned events and genuine hospitality. The role of Events and Ministry Coordinators is vital to executing this mission and upholding the vision of Apartment Life.
The Events and Ministry Coordinator position is an unpaid, volunteer role perfect for individuals passionate about fostering community engagement and building relational connections. Coordinators are entrusted with planning and hosting engaging monthly events designed to bring apartment residents together and link them to broader community services and local business offerings. The role hinges on a commitment to mission-driven work, combining social activity planning with acts of kindness and hospitality to enrich the resident experience significantly.
Coordinators serve as a bridge between residents and the larger community, embodying the values of care and connection through personal outreach and community-building efforts. Responsibilities include crafting marketing materials, managing event budgets, and mobilizing a volunteer support network, vendors, and community partners to maximize the impact of their efforts. Events and Ministry Coordinators also play an important role in welcoming new residents shortly after move-in and reaching out to those nearing the end of their leases to maintain ongoing connection and care.
This role requires individuals who are highly relational, responsible, and mission-minded. Coordinators should enjoy meeting new people, organizing social activities, and embracing the opportunity to share God’s unconditional love through their work. The role demands time commitment primarily during evenings and weekends, aligning with when most residents are available. Physical capability to engage in typical activity demands—such as using stairs, bending, sitting, standing, stooping, and carrying items up to 25 pounds—is necessary. A valid driver’s license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation are also required for fulfilling duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors.
In summary, the Events and Ministry Coordinator position offers a distinctive chance to participate in meaningful work where business excellence intersects with ministry. The coordinator is a pivotal presence in the apartment community, actively enriching the lives of residents and staff through thoughtful event planning, personal outreach, and community partnerships—all without financial compensation but with an abundance of personal and spiritual rewards. This opportunity is ideal for those seeking to contribute their time and talents to a cause that values radical hospitality and builds a stronger, more connected community.
