Job Description

Apartment Life is a unique organization dedicated to creating vibrant and engaging living environments within apartment communities. Their mission is to enhance the apartment living experience by fostering genuine connections among residents and staff, nurturing a strong sense of community, and demonstrating God's unconditional love through acts of radical hospitality. Apartment Life is passionate about combining excellence in business practices with heartfelt care for neighbors, ensuring that every resident feels welcomed, valued, and supported. This approach not only improves the reputation of the apartment communities but also positively impacts the lives of residents, creating spaces where people thrive socially and spiritually within their homes.

The role of an Events and Ministry Coordinator at Apartment Life is a non-paid yet highly impactful position. Coordinators play a crucial role in cultivating an excellent Apartment Life experience by planning and hosting engaging events, providing exceptional personal communication, and serving the community with genuine care. This position is ideal for individuals who are mission-minded, relational, and responsible, as it requires a commitment to creating meaningful connections among residents and bringing people together through well-executed social activities. Coordinators serve as the heart of the community by bridging residents to each other, to local businesses and services, and fostering an environment where everyone feels included and cared for.

Coordinators work closely with a network of volunteers, vendors, and community partners to maximize their impact and provide a rich array of experiences for apartment residents. They are responsible for planning two events each month, developing marketing materials such as monthly calendars and social media posts, and ensuring that events are well-organized and inviting. The role also includes enhancing the community's online reputation by encouraging residents to share their positive experiences and maintaining strong communication with both residents and property management staff.

This position emphasizes hands-on interaction, requiring coordinators to visit new residents shortly after move-in and connect with those approaching the end of their lease, helping to build lasting relationships within the community. While this is an unpaid role, it offers a unique opportunity to engage in "business as ministry," combining professional skills with heartfelt service. Coordinators are expected to be physically capable to perform tasks involving some physical activity, such as bending, sitting, standing, and carrying moderate weight.

The commitment involves dedicating weekly hours, mainly during evenings and weekends when residents are most available, and making a minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community. This role provides rewarding experiences for those who enjoy meeting new people, planning social activities, and helping others experience a sense of belonging and divine love. It is a wonderful way to integrate personal faith and community service with organizational and interpersonal skills, contributing to the well-being and happiness of apartment residents while growing personally and spiritually within a supportive environment.
