Job Description

Apartment Life is a community-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the living experiences of residents through thoughtful programming, support services, and community engagement. With a commitment to creating vibrant and connected residential communities, Apartment Life offers a range of events, workshops, and resources tailored to meet the unique needs of each apartment community they serve. Their mission is to foster supportive environments where residents feel welcomed, empowered, and connected. The organization partners with corporate, government, and nonprofit entities to leverage resources and create impactful programs that address various aspects of resident life such as education, social interaction, and access to essential services.

The Events and Ministry Coordinator role at Apartment Life is a part-time, paid position designed to bring excellence in service execution within a specific residential community. Located in Salem, OR starting October 2026, this position demands a dynamic individual who can skillfully coordinate and implement a variety of resident-focused events and activities. The coordinator will serve approximately 6 hours per week and will be compensated at an hourly rate ranging from $22 to $23. This role, internally known as the Coordinator of Resident Services, focuses on developing and managing various programming efforts such as resident events, educational workshops, family and adult classes, resourcing activities, and welcoming new residents into the community.

Key responsibilities include coordinating a monthly schedule of events that effectively meet the needs of local residents, hosting a weekly Kid's Club event during weekday afternoons, and organizing a monthly fresh food market to support food security within the community. The coordinator will be expected to maintain and update a list of helpful local resources for rent assistance, food aid, and other vital needs. Engaging directly with residents to provide individualized support and resource connection is central to the role. Additionally, partnering with community businesses to expand and diversify activities is a critical aspect of the position. Effective communication with onsite staff and supervisors is essential to ensure cohesive program delivery. The coordinator must also provide regular reports on activities and community impact to demonstrate the effectiveness and value of the Resident Services program.

Applicants should be prepared to work flexible hours, primarily during evenings and weekends when residents are most likely to participate in community offerings. The position requires a candidate with excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and experience or education relevant to event planning, social impact, or human services. A dependable transportation method and physical ability to perform various tasks including carrying up to 25 pounds are necessary. This part-time role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and vibrancy of a residential community while gaining valuable experience in program coordination and community engagement.
