Job Description

Apartment Life is a community-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the living experience within apartment communities by providing enriching events, supportive programming, and essential resident services. They collaborate with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to develop tailored programs that address the unique needs of each community they serve. Apartment Life emphasizes social engagement, wellness, enrichment, and stability for residents, creating opportunities that foster a sense of belonging and support for all residents.

This particular role is for a part-time Events and Ministry Coordinator, also internally known as Coordinator of Resident Services, located in Houston, TX near Buffalo Bayou Park. This paid position requires commitment of 12 hours per week, primarily during afternoons and evenings from Monday to Friday, with a compensation rate of $21 per hour. The primary objective of this role is to successfully plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of community events and workshops that cater to residents' diverse interests and needs. The coordinator will develop and maintain a monthly service schedule in partnership with the Apartment Life supervisor, ensuring that events and programming consistently fulfill the needs of the community.

The Coordinator of Resident Services will organize and host 2-3 resident events or workshops each month focused on promoting social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability. These activities span from educational workshops for adults and families, to helping welcome new residents to the community. The coordinator also plays a vital role as a resource liaison by updating and sharing information about important assistance programs such as rent and food support, and connecting residents with local resources tailored to their specific needs.

Additionally, this role requires regular communication and partnership with onsite staff, community businesses, and other stakeholders to provide a holistic range of activities and services. The coordinator is responsible for reporting monthly on the impact and activities conducted within the community. This enables the organization to continuously measure and improve the effectiveness of their resident services efforts.

Overall, this position calls for a dedicated and compassionate individual with excellent communication skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work independently within a flexible schedule. This job is ideal for someone who enjoys community engagement, event planning, and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives through support and empowerment. The role fosters a supportive environment where creativity and collaboration are encouraged, making it a rewarding opportunity for professionals passionate about social impact and community development.
