Job Description
Apartment Life is a dedicated community-oriented organization focused on enriching the lives of residents through thoughtful programming and supportive services. Our primary mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents, particularly seniors, by fostering social engagement, wellness, and stability within the communities we serve. We collaborate closely with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to create and implement programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each apartment community. With a strong commitment to serving the senior adult population aged 55 and over, we emphasize wellness, enrichment, and a sense of belonging through various resident-centered initiatives. Our work ensures that residents have access to valuable resources such as rent and food assistance and feel connected to their local environment through organized events and workshops.
The role of Events and Ministry Coordinator, also referred to internally as Coordinator of Resident Services, is a vital part-time position designed to support and elevate the service delivery within one senior community located in Saginaw, TX. This coordinator will work closely with their Apartment Life supervisor to prepare monthly schedules that include resident events, workshops, classes, and other resourcing activities. This role demands a compassionate individual with a heart for serving seniors along with strong organizational and communication skills. The coordinator is responsible for planning and hosting 2 to 3 monthly events tailored to promote social interaction, health, wellness, and overall enrichment. Actively meeting with residents to address their specific needs, the coordinator facilitates connections between residents and crucial local resources, contributing to the holistic well-being and stability of the community.
This position requires availability primarily during regular business hours from Monday to Friday before 5:30 PM, amounting to approximately 12 paid hours each week. Serving as the key liaison between residents, community partners, onsite staff, and the Apartment Life supervisor, the coordinator ensures all activities run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities also include updating residents monthly with lists of assistance programs such as rent and food support, as well as fostering partnerships with local businesses to enhance the range of activities offered. By reporting monthly on activities and their collective impact, the coordinator plays an essential role in maintaining transparency and continuous improvement within the program.
Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree or relevant experience in event planning, human services, or related fields, coupled with excellent listening and communication capabilities. Essential physical abilities include the capacity to carry items weighing up to 25 pounds and perform various physical tasks such as bending, standing, and using stairs. A valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation are necessary to fulfill responsibilities like shopping for event needs and coordinating with vendors. The position also welcomes candidates with bilingual Spanish skills, social media experience, and prior event planning exposure, especially those with a network of volunteers, vendors, or community partners. Ultimately, the Apartment Life Events and Ministry Coordinator will be a committed advocate, organizer, and friend to the senior residents they serve, ensuring each individual benefits from meaningful and impactful programming.
