Job Description

Apartment Life is a dedicated organization focused on enhancing the quality of life for residents living in apartment communities. By providing a range of supportive services and engaging activities, Apartment Life strives to create vibrant, connected neighborhoods where residents feel valued and supported. The organization collaborates with corporate partners, government agencies, and nonprofits to develop and implement programs tailored to the unique needs of each community it serves. Its mission centers on fostering wellness, social engagement, and stability among residents, particularly those who may benefit from additional support such as seniors, families, and individuals facing economic challenges.

The role of Events and Ministry Coordinator, also internally referred to as Coordinator of Resident Services, is a part-time, paid position designed to support these goals by executing a comprehensive service plan specific to Apartment Life communities. This position is focused on serving a senior adult community (ages 55 and older) and requires a compassionate individual who is deeply committed to improving the lives of this population. The coordinator will work closely with their Apartment Life supervisor to prepare and maintain a monthly schedule packed with meaningful events, workshops, and programs tailored to meet the evolving needs of residents.

This coordinator role entails planning and hosting at least one event each month that promotes social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability within the community. They will also be responsible for curating and updating a list of essential resources, including rent and food assistance programs, ensuring residents have access to critical support services. The coordinator acts as a vital link between residents and local resources, offering personalized support to those with specific needs and helping to navigate assistance programs. Collaboration is a key part of the role, as the coordinator partners with local businesses and community organizations to provide a holistic range of activities that enhance residents' experiences.

Effective communication with onsite staff and the Apartment Life supervisor is crucial for success in this role. The coordinator will provide consistent updates and submit monthly reports detailing program activities and impact, allowing for continuous evaluation and improvement of services. The position is structured around an hourly commitment of 8 hours per week, preferably divided into two 4-hour workdays, and requires availability during regular business hours (Monday through Friday before 5:30 pm). The ideal candidate will also be willing and able to provide after-hours or weekend activities when necessary, accommodating the times when residents are most available.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about community engagement, social services, and event planning, particularly those interested in serving senior adults. The part-time nature of the position provides flexibility, while the coordinator's work directly contributes to building stronger, healthier communities. Overall, this position provides meaningful work that has a tangible impact on the quality of life for residents, making it an attractive option for candidates seeking to align their careers with social impact and community development.
