Job Description

This role is for a part-time Events and Ministry Coordinator, internally referred to as the Coordinator of Resident Services, based in a community in south Tacoma, Washington near Larchmont. This position is crucial in facilitating a vibrant and supportive community atmosphere by planning and executing a monthly schedule of events and programming designed to meet each community’s unique needs. The Coordinator will work directly with their supervisor to develop programming that includes resident events, educational workshops for adults and families, resource activities, and initiatives aimed at welcoming new residents. They are expected to execute three weekly Kid's Clubs during weekday afternoons, specifically between 3:30 pm and 5 pm, making this a role that combines both organizational skills and community engagement. The hourly pay rate for this role ranges from $21 to $23 per hour, offering an opportunity for candidates passionate about community service and event coordination to make an impactful contribution while enjoying flexible part-time work hours totaling 24 hours per week.

In addition to coordinating and hosting events, this role involves strategic outreach to promote social engagement as well as wellness programs among residents. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all activities run smoothly, managing communications with onsite staff, meeting regularly with supervisors to review goals and progress, and submitting reports on program impact. Successful candidates must be physically capable of performing the duties required, including occasional lifting and movement around the community, and must have reliable transportation along with a current driver’s license and liability insurance to facilitate shopping for events and vendor engagement. This position requires excellent communication skills, comfort with basic computer tasks, and the ability to engage meaningfully with residents to provide support and connect them with valuable resources and assistance programs. Commitment to the community and availability for after-hours or weekend activities are essential to fulfilling the role's responsibilities effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience in event planning, social impact, or human services
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to provide after-hours or weekend activities as needed
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports
  • Possess a current driver’s license and liability insurance
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Have availability to commit weekly hours mainly in the evenings and weekends
  • Be able to make the minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community

  • Have the availability to commit weekly hours to perform job responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends when most residents are home
  • Be able to make the minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community

Job Duties
