Job Description
Apartment Life is a reputable community-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the living experiences of residents in apartment communities, particularly senior adults aged 55 and above. Specializing in fostering vibrant, engaging environments, Apartment Life emphasizes social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability among its residents. With a strong foundation in community service and a mission to support residents' diverse needs, Apartment Life delivers tailored programming that includes resident events, workshops, classes for adults and families, and resource assistance, ensuring residents feel supported and connected in their homes.
This part-time, paid position of Events and Ministry Coordinator, also internally referred to as Coordinator of Resident Services, plays a crucial role within the Apartment Life team. Located in Dickinson, TX, this position serves one Senior Adult community, requiring a compassionate individual with a heart for seniors. The coordinator is responsible for executing a well-structured service plan in collaboration with the Apartment Life supervisor, creating a monthly schedule that encompasses events and programming tailored to residents' needs. This position involves coordinating and hosting three to four events monthly aimed at promoting social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability among the residents. Furthermore, the coordinator manages resource lists for rent assistance, food support, and other local aid and acts as a liaison connecting residents with specific needs to appropriate local services.
The role demands a strong capacity for community partnership, as the coordinator works closely with local businesses to provide holistic, enriching activities that enhance residents' quality of life. Effective communication skills are necessary for seamless collaboration with onsite staff and supervisors, and monthly reporting of activities and their impacts is an essential responsibility to monitor and optimize service delivery. Working primarily 12 hours per week during standard business hours (Monday through Friday before 5:30 pm), with occasional evenings and weekends, this coordinator position offers flexibility and requires a commitment to consistent weekly engagement, especially during times when residents are more available. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in community-oriented environments, enjoys event planning, and has a dedicated spirit to serve senior residents and their well-being. The coordinator must also possess logistical capabilities, such as driving to run errands or connect with vendors, highlighting the practical aspects of the role.
