Job Description

Co-Lab on U Street is an innovative co-working facility launching in September 2026, located in Washington, DC. This dynamic space is designed as a hub for progressive movements, collaboration, and community-building. It serves as a vibrant ecosystem fostering good work, open conversations, and serendipitous connections among nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, and community groups. Unlike traditional co-working spaces, Co-Lab on U Street emphasizes social impact alongside professional engagement, creating an atmosphere where mission-driven individuals can thrive and work together toward shared goals. The facility is in-person only, maintaining a physical, welcoming environment true to its community roots, and remote work is not an option for its staff. Co-Lab on U Street values inclusivity, diversity, and equity, strongly encouraging applicants from underrepresented communities, including people of color, women, disabled individuals, and LGBTQ+ members. It is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer.

The Events & Logistics Coordinator at Co-Lab on U Street holds a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of all events and daily logistics within this lively co-working environment. Reporting directly to the Community Manager, this exempt full-time position focuses on creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all members and external visitors by expertly managing event logistics and facility readiness. The coordinator acts as the logistical backbone for both member community programming and external rentals, overseeing everything from event setup and breakdown to vendor coordination and technology support. This individual will handle a diverse range of activities including managing audio-visual (AV) gear, facilitating workspace configurations, coordinating catering and volunteer guest passes, and tracking event success metrics.

With a salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 annually and a competitive benefits package, this position calls for a highly organized, action-oriented expert generalist capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of experience in events and logistics planning, preferably with familiarity in co-working settings or nonprofit organizations. They will need to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, technical proficiency with multi-media devices such as microphones, Zoom, and Owl Cameras, and a vibrant, welcoming demeanor that reflects the spirit of community-building. Heavy computer use, lifting up to 40 lbs, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends regularly are essential physical and scheduling requirements. This role exists to cultivate a high-functioning, accessible, and engaging facility that nurtures the progress and collaboration of social innovators and nonprofit leaders.
