Job Description

Emmes Group is a pioneering company in the clinical research industry, committed to advancing medical discoveries and improving patient outcomes worldwide. Founded over 47 years ago, Emmes Group initially served as a premier clinical research provider to the US government before expanding its reach into public-private partnerships and commercial biopharma sectors. The company's expertise spans a diverse range of therapeutic areas including cell and gene therapy, vaccines and infectious diseases, ophthalmology, rare diseases, and neuroscience. Emmes prides itself on fostering a collaborative culture that balances performance-driven goals with a strong focus on people, innovation, and scientific excellence. This culture drives the company’s mission to embed innovation deeply into the fabric of its operations to accelerate the pace of clinical research and bring impactful therapies to patients faster.

As a US remote-based role with approximately 15-20% domestic and international travel, the Events & Demand Generation Lead at Emmes Group will play a vital part in shaping the company's commercial and marketing strategies. This full-time position is a hands-on builder role that centers around managing Emmes Group’s presence at key industry conferences, trade shows, and events to generate demand and build a robust sales pipeline. The role involves complete ownership of event planning, logistics, and execution while collaborating closely with internal sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and effective engagement.

The Events & Demand Generation Lead is responsible for turning event participation into commercial opportunities by driving lead generation activities before, during, and after events. This includes strategic pre-event prospect identification and outreach, seamless on-site event leadership, and diligent follow-up on qualified leads using CRM systems to maximize pipeline growth. Expertise in inside sales and business development, particularly within the clinical research, life sciences, or healthcare technology sectors, is essential for success in this role. Moreover, candidates with an understanding of the biopharma landscape, especially in oncology, vaccines, infectious diseases, and rare diseases, will find this position highly impactful.

This role requires strong project management skills to juggle multiple events and sales initiatives simultaneously. The ability to actively engage event attendees, network effectively, and communicate proficiently with scientific and professional audiences is critical. Candidates should be comfortable representing Emmes during busy conference days, driving brand visibility, and fostering lasting relationships with biopharma sponsors and partners. Proficiency with CRM systems, event management tools, and the Microsoft Office suite is essential for managing event data and collaboration efforts.

Emmes Group values continuous improvement and requires the ability to measure event performance meticulously through attendance metrics, attendee engagement, leads generated, and overall ROI tracking, which informs future event strategies. Travel is a key component of this role, supporting the company’s commitment to maintaining a strong presence at pivotal industry gatherings worldwide.

Working at Emmes means contributing directly to public health advancements and gaining opportunities to participate in community engagement initiatives through the Emmes Cares program. The company supports its employees with comprehensive benefits, including flexible approved time off, tuition reimbursement, 401k retirement plans, remote work flexibility anywhere in the US, maternal and paternal leave, and a casual dress code and work environment. Emmes Group is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all hiring practices.
