Job Description

Rho is a modern banking platform designed specifically for startups, offering a streamlined and integrated financial solution that helps emerging companies manage their banking needs with ease and efficiency. Founded with the mission to simplify and modernize business banking, Rho allows startups to open accounts within minutes, issue corporate cards, manage expenses in real time, pay bills seamlessly, and close their books—all within one connected platform. What sets Rho apart is its commitment to blending cutting-edge technology with genuine human support, ensuring that users receive expert guidance whenever needed. This unique combination empowers startups to focus on growth and innovation rather than the complexities of traditional banking.

Rho's platform is thoughtfully engineered to cater to the distinct challenges faced by startups, providing tools that eliminate friction from financial operations and enhance visibility and control. By integrating various financial services into a single hub, Rho enables finance teams and founders to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and gain actionable insights into spending and cash flow. This holistic approach has positioned Rho as a trusted partner in the startup ecosystem, helping companies scale with confidence.

The role of Events & Community Manager at Rho is a pivotal position designed to deepen the company's presence within the Austin startup ecosystem and extend its influence across Texas's vibrant startup and venture capital markets. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic planning with dynamic execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative community engagement initiatives and event strategies that resonate with startup founders and investors alike.

As the Events & Community Manager, you will be spearheading efforts to establish Rho as the preferred banking platform among founders by cultivating authentic, lasting relationships within the startup ecosystem. This involves not only creating and hosting high-impact events—from intimate dinners and roundtables to energetic social and wellness gatherings—but also developing an understanding of the local market rhythms and key influencers. You will serve as the face of Rho in the community, representing the brand with warmth and professionalism while building partnerships with venture capital firms, accelerators, and ecosystem organizations.

The position requires someone who thrives on building connections and creating meaningful spaces for collaboration and growth. You will be expected to speak the language of startups fluently, understanding the operational challenges, investment dynamics, and community needs at various stages of startup development. An integral part of this role involves managing budgets, tracking metrics to measure program success, and implementing scalable systems to ensure quality as the community grows.

The ideal candidate is not only a relationship builder but also possesses a data-driven mindset, using insights to refine community initiatives and maximize impact. With 5-7 years of experience in community building, particularly within startup environments or B2B SaaS and fintech sectors, you’ll bring a wealth of knowledge and a strong network of Austin and Texas-based founders, operators, and investors. Your ability to create targeted programming combining strategic vision with operational excellence will drive Rho’s mission forward, helping to displace incumbent banking solutions and position Rho as a key ecosystem partner.

Rho values diversity and inclusion, fostering an equitable workplace where all employees and community members feel welcomed and supported. The role offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $160,000, equity participation, healthcare benefits, and paid time off, along with opportunities for ongoing professional growth. This role is a unique opportunity to influence the trajectory of a fast-growing fintech company by directly shaping its community presence and impact in one of the nation’s most dynamic startup hubs.
