The role of Events & Catering Manager at The Marshes of Skidaway Island is a key leadership position that focuses on orchestrating memorable dining and event experiences for its vibrant senior population. This position demands a seasoned hospitality professional who excels in event planning, catering management, and team coordination within a senior living environment. The Events & Catering Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all catering and event activities involving Food & Beverage, ensuring that every event is executed with excellence, professionalism, and attention to detail. Working closely with residents, dining leadership, and kitchen staff, this manager will consult with residents and staff to understand event needs and preferences, coordinate with kitchen staff to develop menus, and collaborate with the Dining Room Manager for staffing. The role also involves supervising event setup, service, and breakdown, all while maintaining high standards of customer service and hospitality. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in a restaurant, club, hotel, or similar hospitality setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize and connect with residents, visitors, peers, supervisors, and team members
  • Ability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
  • Valid driver's license required
