The role of Events and Catering Assistant at Glenaire is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week with weekend availability. This position is crucial in supporting the planning and execution of events, meetings, banquets, and catering functions within the community. The Events and Catering Assistant works closely with residents, family members, and internal teams to create memorable and seamless event experiences. Responsibilities include assisting with event setup and breakdown, managing catering supplies and orders, ensuring quality food presentation and service, and providing excellent customer service throughout each event. This role demands strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude. The assistant supports the Events or Catering Coordinator with various duties, ensuring all events run smoothly and meet cleanliness and safety standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous hospitality, catering, restaurant, or event experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-50 lbs as needed
- Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude

Job Duties
- Assist with planning and coordinating events, meetings, banquets, and catering functions
- Assisting residents and team members create memorable events
- Support event setup and breakdown, including tables, decor, signage, and catering stations
- Communicate with residents, family members, and internal teams regarding event details and timelines
- Help manage catering orders, inventory, and supplies
- Ensure food presentation and service areas meet quality and cleanliness standards
- Provide excellent customer service before, during, and after events
- Assist with scheduling, confirmations, and administrative event tasks
- Monitor event flow and address resident needs promptly
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Support the Events or Catering Coordinator with additional duties as needed
