The role of Events and Broadcast Manager for the Card Business is a full-time position with a competitive salary ranging typically between $110,000 and $120,000 per year. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Organized Play and Events, this position is integral to the successful execution of tier 3 and higher events, as well as overseeing the company’s key livestream broadcasts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in event management within entertainment or consumer goods sectors, particularly those focused on tournaments or consumer-focused activations.

This manager is responsible for all stages of event execution, from initial planning and securing venues and services to coordinating logistics and post-event activities. They work closely with external event partners to ensure all service requirements are met well before the event, safeguarding a smooth and professional experience. On the broadcast side, the manager oversees livestream productions, liaising with internal marketing, digital, and research & development teams to develop and approve livestream content. Collaboration with external livestream partners is critical, and the manager acts as the primary point of contact during events to coordinate technical and logistical details and ensure broadcast quality.

Key aspects of the role include managing pre-event preparations such as meeting document creation and coordination of resources, as well as post-event wrap-ups including recap meetings. The Events and Broadcast Manager also supports operational event execution onsite by coordinating with judges, talent, and writers to ensure rehearsals and event production run without issues. An essential part of the job is maintaining important assets such as the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Image database used during livestreams. Beyond event-specific duties, the manager also performs general administrative tasks and may occasionally demo games to promote the business.

Candidates must possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and a keen strategic mindset that includes forecasting, budgeting, and marketing expertise. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Asana, and optionally MS Access, MS Project, Illustrator, or Photoshop is ideal. The role demands a proactive approach with resourcefulness to solve problems independently, along with the capacity to handle multiple projects with meticulous attention to detail. Additionally, the position requires the flexibility to travel as needed for on-site event management and support.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with Sr. Manager of Organized Play and Events and external event partners to secure venues, hotels, and services in advance
  • prepare and manage pre-event and post-event meeting documents
  • plan, manage, and execute all pre-event preparations and post-event logistics
  • work with Organized Play Team to process and pay invoices timely
  • collaborate to ensure event documentation is current and consistent
  • oversee livestreams for Organized Play and Marketing events ensuring advance deliverables
  • partner with Marketing, Digital Marketing, R&D, and Organized Play teams to develop and approve livestream content
  • liaise with livestream partner on technical and logistical event requirements and provide on-site support
  • coordinate on-site with livestream judge team, talent, and writers to manage tasks and rehearsals
  • maintain Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Image database for livestream events
  • provide on-site operational support at Tier 3 and higher events
  • lead post-event recap meetings with internal teams, livestream partners, and Tournament Organizers
  • demo Card Business games when needed
  • perform general administrative and other duties as assigned
