Job Description

The hiring establishment for this position is a leading company in the gaming and entertainment industry, focused on delivering exceptional organized play and event experiences, particularly centered around the Card Business. This company is renowned for managing and producing high-quality consumer events, tournaments, and live broadcasts, mainly involving collectible card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh!. With a comprehensive approach to event planning and execution, the organization partners with both internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless operations and exceptional engagement at every event.

This is a full-time position titled Events and Broadcast Manager within the Card Business division, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Organized Play and Events. The compensation for this role ranges from $110,000 to $120,000 annually, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required. This position plays a critical role in orchestrating Tier 3 and higher-level events, which are significant affairs featuring large-scale tournaments, livestream broadcasts, and diverse operational elements.

The role involves comprehensive event planning and execution duties, including coordination with external events partners to secure venues, accommodations, and all necessary services well in advance. The Events and Broadcast Manager is responsible for ensuring that all planning documents, both pre-event and post-event, are meticulously prepared and managed. This requires strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments. Another vital aspect of the role is the management of the Tier 3 livestreams, working closely with internal teams such as Marketing, Research & Development, and Organized Play, as well as external livestream partners to ensure that all broadcast content is well planned, approved, and executed flawlessly.

The role demands strong leadership and decision-making skills, as the Manager will be the primary contact for livestream partners during events and oversee the technical and logistical aspects of the broadcasts. This includes on-site coordination with livestream judges, talent, and writers, making sure that rehearsals and task assignments are synchronized to deliver a polished final output. Furthermore, the position entails maintaining the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Image database to support live stream events, providing operational support at major events, and leading post-event debriefs to evaluate successes and opportunities for improvement.

The successful candidate will showcase excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. They must be proactive problem-solvers, skilled in managing multiple projects concurrently with meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, and forecasting adds value to the role, along with proficiency in essential software tools like MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Asana.

Qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in entertainment or consumer goods, with at least three years focused on event management. Prior experience with live broadcast productions, esports, or gaming community-related events is preferred, along with skills in MS Access, MS Project, Illustrator, or Photoshop being a plus. The ability to travel is also essential for this position.

Overall, the Events and Broadcast Manager role offers a rewarding opportunity to lead and innovate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to the success and growth of exciting organized play events and livestream productions in the gaming industry.
