Job Description
Bend-La Pine Schools is a progressive and dedicated educational district located in Central Oregon that is firmly committed to the principle of equity. Unlike equality, which means treating everyone the same, equity is about removing barriers and fostering inclusive practices to ensure that all students can fully benefit from educational opportunities. This commitment to equity influences every aspect of the district's operations including policies, regulations, programs, and resource allocations. As a district, Bend-La Pine Schools strives to create an environment where diversity is not only embraced but also leveraged to enhance learning and community development. The district is known for its focus on providing quality education to a diverse student population with various programs that support academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
The role of Event Worker within Bend-La Pine Schools is essential in supporting school activities, events, and athletics. This position is integral to maintaining a safe, enjoyable, and well-organized environment for students, staff, and community members during various school events. Event Workers take on responsibilities such as assisting with event setup and cleanup, monitoring attendee behavior, ensuring compliance with district policies, and supporting the Athletic Director or designated supervisors at each school. The position emphasizes the importance of being cleared by Human Resources before commencing work, as well as completing the required SafeSchools training to adhere to safety guidelines and district standards.
This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about supporting educational and community activities, enjoy working in dynamic environments, and are committed to contributing positively to the school culture. Bend-La Pine Schools prioritizes hiring candidates who exhibit a flexible, collaborative approach and a dedication to fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all participants. Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they come from non-traditional backgrounds or if they do not meet every qualification to encourage diverse hiring. Clear communication and collaboration with the Athletic Director or their designee are critical as the Event Worker position is only to begin upon direct instruction and clearance from these authorities.
This employment opportunity, while part-time and event-based, offers valuable experience in a community-focused educational setting. It also provides an opportunity to engage closely with students, staff, and community members while supporting important school functions and athletic events. Bend-La Pine Schools values the contributions of Event Workers in helping to create positive and safe experiences for all involved. The role offers a chance for those looking to gain experience in event management, school operations, or athletic event support to grow and develop within a supportive and inclusive district environment.
