Job Description

This opportunity is with a leading global provider of technology and event services, specializing in delivering exceptional audiovisual solutions within hospitality environments such as hotels and convention centers. The company is dedicated to ensuring that clients experience seamless events through cutting-edge technology and professional service standards. With a strong commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and employee development, the organization plays a significant role in supporting a wide array of events from corporate meetings to large-scale conferences. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments where attention to detail and customer service excellence are paramount.

The position of Technician encompasses critical responsibilities centered around the setup and operation of small-scale audiovisual systems, ensuring the flawless execution of events held within the hospitality setting. Reporting to senior leadership such as an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology, the Technician acts as a frontline representative for the company during events. The role demands not only the technical know-how of handling audiovisual equipment, software troubleshooting, and systems processes but also exceptional interpersonal skills for direct client interaction and customer service. Maintaining strong communication with both clients and internal teams ensures that all technical requirements are met meticulously, and any challenges are promptly addressed.

In addition to technical duties, the Technician is responsible for managing relationships with clients by meeting onsite, confirming equipment setup, and actively monitoring event progress. The position supports the broader revenue goals by employing effective floor up-selling techniques when appropriate and collaborating with clients to finalize invoices. The role also requires comprehensive knowledge of internal company systems like Navigator to process orders and maintain accurate documentation. Furthermore, this position demands physical capability to handle equipment safely, including lifting weights up to 50 pounds.

This role offers a unique chance to grow professionally within a renowned global company, complete training and certifications via the company’s Global Learning Training Program, and gain practical experience using industry-leading audiovisual technologies in a hospitality environment. The position involves varied working conditions, including exposure to outdoor elements, noise levels ranging from moderate to high, and usage of lifts and ladders at times. Flexibility in work hours is essential, as shifts may include irregular hours, weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call duties. Adherence to appearance standards as set by the employer is also required. Overall, the Technician role is an excellent fit for candidates eager to develop their technical skills while delivering exemplary service in the hospitality and events industry.
