The Technician position involves the setup and operation of basic to small-scale audiovisual systems within hotel and convention center environments. Reporting to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology, this role demands a combination of technical know-how, customer service skills, and the ability to troubleshoot audiovisual equipment during events. The Technician is responsible for the timely setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment to guarantee events run smoothly while exceeding client expectations. With working hours that include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, the role requires flexibility and dedication to delivering world-class event experiences. The hourly pay range for this position is $14.22 to $18.49, with compensation influenced by location, experience, and skill level. Additional opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and incentives may also be available.

As part of the role, the Technician will interact closely with clients on-site, ensuring that equipment functions properly and guests' audiovisual needs are met throughout the event. The position requires working at heights using lifts or ladders and may involve exposure to various indoor and outdoor conditions, including dirt and dust. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and performing activities such as standing, walking, bending, and climbing across moderate durations. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to complete required training and certifications within 60 days
  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • 1 year of audiovisual experience or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver's license if required to operate company vehicles
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Compliance with physical demands of the role including standing, walking, and climbing
  • Meet additional DOT requirements if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • 1 year of audiovisual experience or equivalent educational background preferred
  • Ability to complete required training and certifications within 60 days
  • Valid driver's license required if operating company vehicles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic audiovisual equipment operation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
