With a strong commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, Encore operates at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge audiovisual solutions that elevate event experiences across numerous hotel and convention center venues. The company’s expertise spans advanced audiovisual equipment, event management, and technical operations, ensuring flawless execution and client satisfaction at every event. Encore invests heavily in employee development and industry-leading training programs, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture that values diverse talents and backgrounds. This role is a key part of Encore’s operational team within a dynamic hospitality environment, often working in hotels and convention centers. The company offers hourly pay ranging from $22.90 to $29.77, with potential qualifications and experience influencing the exact salary. Additional compensation such as overtime, bonuses, or incentives may also be available, alongside comprehensive benefits packages that support employee health and wellbeing.
The position of Technical Specialist is a vital role responsible for the technical setup, operation, and management of mid-level production events, focusing on delivering exceptional audiovisual services and ensuring complete client satisfaction. Reporting to an Associate or Director of Project Management, the Technical Specialist plays an essential part in event success by accurately and efficiently managing advanced audiovisual equipment including audio, lighting, projection, and video systems throughout all stages of an event. This includes pre-event setup, live event operation, troubleshooting technical issues instantaneously, and breakdown of equipment post-event.
The role requires excellent customer service skills, as the Technical Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining open, positive communication to meet and exceed expectations. Collaboration with internal teams such as sales and operations is key to delivering optimal event solutions and ensuring a seamless client experience. Beyond hands-on event work, this position involves mentoring and training other technical staff and contributing to staff development by sharing technical expertise and leadership insights.
The Technical Specialist also supervises other technicians during events, coordinating efforts to deliver smooth and flawless productions. Equipment maintenance is an ongoing responsibility, including inventory, storage, security, transportation, and forecasting of equipment needs to ensure the preparedness of all technical assets. The environment requires physical capability to handle equipment lifting up to 50 pounds and the physical demands of standing, walking, stooping, crawling, and other activities for several hours during event operations.
Work hours may vary and include irregular schedules, weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call status to meet the demands of live events. Working in multiple hotel locations may be required, exposing the employee to varying indoor and outdoor conditions, noise levels, and the use of specialized equipment like lifts and ladders. Encore places a strong emphasis on safety, security, and company standards, requiring adherence to all protocols to maintain a secure and professional environment.
The Technical Specialist role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about event technology, customer service, and teamwork within the hospitality industry. It offers professional growth opportunities through continuous learning, technical skill development, and chances to advance as a subject matter expert in various audiovisual disciplines. Encore values diversity, inclusivity, and a collaborative work culture, making this position a rewarding career choice in the event production and technology field.
