This center serves as a significant venue for various events including conventions, trade shows, weddings, business meetings, and cultural performances. The City of Port St. Lucie embodies values of inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, ensuring a diverse workforce while maintaining high standards of professionalism and public trust.

The Event Tech Division plays a pivotal role in the successful operation and management of the MidFlorida Event Center. The City is currently looking for a skilled and experienced professional to oversee this division as the Event Tech Division Supervisor. This role involves supervising a team of skilled and semi-skilled workers tasked with supporting the wide range of events held at the facility. Operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, the supervisor will be responsible for organizing daily operations, managing event setups and breakdowns, and maintaining the facility’s technical equipment and infrastructure.

The supervisor will work closely with clients, event planners, and other city departments to ensure seamless event execution. Responsibilities include setting up lighting, audio, and video systems, providing technical support and training on AV equipment, and supervising the physical arrangement of furniture and staging as per event requirements. This position demands strong leadership capabilities as the role includes managing a staff of eight or more employees, fostering teamwork, and ensuring safety compliance. The supervisor will also coordinate preventative maintenance programs, oversee contract work, and handle budgeting and procurement for materials and supplies.

Emergency preparedness is a key aspect of this role, as the position is classified as essential and requires reporting to duty before, during, and after civil emergencies. This ensures the Event Center remains operational and responsive under all circumstances. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, as the role frequently involves interacting with diverse stakeholders.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $34.57 to $39.76 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The City emphasizes continuous improvement and operational efficiency, expecting the supervisor to contribute innovative solutions and streamline event setup and teardown processes. Working hours may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of events hosted at the facility.

In summary, the Event Tech Division Supervisor at the City of Port St. Lucie is an essential leadership role that combines technical expertise with personnel management and customer service. It offers candidates an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant public environment, contribute to community events, and support a critical municipal facility with a strong commitment to excellence and public trust.
