The City of Port St. Lucie is seeking a skilled and dedicated Event Tech Division Supervisor to oversee and direct the daily operations of the Event Tech Division at the MidFlorida Event Center. This full-time position offers a competitive starting salary range of $34.57 to $39.76 per hour, depending on the candidate's qualifications, alongside the opportunity to work in a vital role that significantly contributes to the success of the City's event services. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- at least seven years of relevant experience in event or entertainment services
- proven supervisory experience with a team of eight or more
- valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days
- ability to pass a drug screening
- physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks
- flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays
- ability to operate light motorized equipment
- strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- commitment to safety and adherence to protocols
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent
- minimum of seven years of experience in event or entertainment services or a comparable area
- previous supervisory experience required
- familiarity with AV equipment and event setup preferred
- possession of a valid driver's license with ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days
- strong leadership and team-building skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- excellent communication skills
- ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques
- ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
Job Duties
- Supervise and direct daily operations of the Event Tech Division
- set up, operate, and take down lighting, audio, and video systems
- provide training and support on AV equipment use
- move, position, and arrange chairs, tables, and other furniture for events
- operate light motorized equipment and perform light repair and maintenance
- conduct daily facility safety checks
- develop goals and oversee projects including grounds keeping and event set up
- prepare quotations and estimates for materials and supplies
- communicate clearly and effectively with staff and event coordinators
- attend event and operations meetings
- maintain records and documentation
- ensure compliance with safety standards
- lead, train, and evaluate division staff
- work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- perform other related duties as assigned
