Job Description
The Inn at Opryland, a Gaylord Hotel located at 2401 Music Valley Dr, Nashville, Tennessee, is a renowned hospitality establishment that forms part of the prestigious Gaylord Hotels brand, which is affiliated with Marriott International. This hotel is a vibrant and elegant destination known for its exceptional service and unique event experiences. With its prime location in Nashville, a city famous for its rich musical heritage and cultural vibrancy, The Inn at Opryland offers guests an unforgettable stay characterized by luxurious accommodations, exquisite dining options, and world-class meeting and event spaces. As part of Marriott International, one of the world's leading hospitality companies, The Inn at Opryland upholds a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment, fostering a welcoming and supportive workplace for all its associates.
This position is for a part-time Event Service Assistant Expert, a non-management role with a competitive hourly pay rate of $17.00. Those hired for this role will be pivotal in ensuring that events at the hotel run seamlessly and impressively, by providing comprehensive assistance in event setup, operations, and breakdown. Event Service Assistants at The Inn at Opryland work diligently to craft memorable atmospheres for guests attending banquets, meetings, and various social functions within the hotel. Their duties extend beyond mere setup of tables and chairs; these professionals demonstrate initiative and versatility by handling a wide range of tasks such as assembling and disassembling event materials, transporting supplies, and replenishing bars and action stations.
The role requires physical stamina, as Event Service Assistants are often on their feet, walking or standing for extended periods, and are engaged in various physical tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects. Objects weighing less than 50 pounds are handled independently, while heavier items require cooperative effort. A keen attention to detail, safety adherence, and the ability to work efficiently under direction contribute greatly to the successful execution of events. Maintaining a professional appearance, communication skills, and adhering to Marriott’s high standards of quality and safety is paramount. The role is designed to support the overall functioning of the hotel while ensuring guest satisfaction is prioritized at every step.
Additionally, Marriott International provides an inclusive work environment that celebrates cultural diversity, creativity, and dedication among its staff, called STARs. These associates are empowered to be entrepreneurial and thoughtful in guest service, embodying the brand’s mission to go beyond traditional hotel service by offering extraordinary experiences that connect people. Joining the Gaylord Hotels team means becoming part of a global family where associates can achieve their best work, find purpose in their roles, connect with a supportive worldwide network, and grow into their best professional selves. This opportunity is ideal for individuals eager to start a rewarding career in hospitality with room for development within a respected international hotel group.
