Job Description

Marriott International is a global leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for delivering exceptional guest experiences and services through its extensive portfolio of brands. Among these esteemed brands is JW Marriott, a hallmark of luxury and sophistication, offering more than 100 stunning properties in gateway cities and desirable resort destinations worldwide. Marriott International prides itself on a culture of inclusivity and diversity, providing equal opportunity employment and fostering a workplace where the unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences of associates are celebrated. The company emphasizes a commitment to non-discrimination and ensures a supportive, safe, and professional work environment for all employees. Marriott Hotels, and in particular JW Marriott, are dedicated to excellence and innovation in hospitality, creating memorable guest experiences that uphold the timeless legacy of the company founder, J. Willard Marriott.

JW Marriott, as part of Marriott International's luxury portfolio, offers employees a unique and rewarding work environment focused on holistic well-being, community, and growth. The brand values its associates as its greatest asset, championing a culture where team members feel connected, empowered, and motivated. This focus on associate satisfaction is central to delivering the renowned JW Treatment™—exceptional care that starts with taking care of associates.

The position available is for an Event Support Expert located at the JW Marriott property in Plano, Texas. This is a full-time, non-management role pivotal to the seamless execution of events, ranging from banquets to meetings. Unlike traditional roles limited to physical setup tasks, this role is designed to create an atmosphere that is both memorable and unique by contributing actively to all facets of event preparation and operations. The Event Support Expert takes initiative and handles a wide range of responsibilities including setting up and breaking down event materials, transporting necessary supplies, stocking bars and action stations, and ensuring all details contribute to flawless event delivery.

Success in this role requires a hands-on approach, physical stamina, and attention to detail, with responsibilities that involve standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and performing physical activities such as lifting and moving objects — up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance. The role also demands adherence to company policies and safety standards, maintenance of professional appearance and communication, and dedication to quality service. This position is ideal for individuals seeking practical experience in the food and beverage and culinary event services industry within a respected luxury hospitality brand.

Candidates for the Event Support Expert position should bring a positive attitude, willingness to work proactively, and a commitment to contributing to an exceptional guest experience. The role offers a solid foundation for growth within Marriott International, providing training and development opportunities that align with career progression in the wider hospitality industry. Joining JW Marriott means becoming part of a global team where diverse talents are nurtured, and where employees are encouraged to bring their best selves to work every day. This opportunity is more than just a job—it’s a chance to start a career in an enriching, supportive environment at one of the most prestigious hotel brands worldwide, with benefits designed to promote a balanced and rewarding professional life.
