Job Description

Garmin International is a globally recognized technology company that specializes in GPS technology and wearable technology designed to enhance navigation and communication. Headquartered in the Greater Kansas City area, Garmin has established itself as a leader in creating innovative products that support outdoor activities, fitness, aviation, marine, and automotive applications. With a strong emphasis on quality, performance, and customer engagement, Garmin delivers cutting-edge solutions to a worldwide audience, contributing to more connected and efficient lifestyles through advanced technology.

At Garmin's U.S. headquarters, the role of Event Coordinator is a critical position focused on supporting internal events throughout the campus. This full-time role primarily revolves around the execution and operational aspects of events rather than the initial event planning or strategic development. The Event Coordinator plays an instrumental role in ensuring that events run smoothly and efficiently by managing logistics, coordinating with multiple internal and external partners, and providing hands-on support on the day of events. This position requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly collaborative individual who excels in fast-paced environments and is passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences.

In this role, the coordinator works closely with facilities management, security, IT, legal, risk management, purchasing, and other essential departments to align event logistics and resolve any issues that may arise. Responsiveness and flexibility are key attributes of this position, as the coordinator often handles last-minute changes, troubleshooting, and real-time problem resolution during event execution. Beyond supporting internal event operations, the coordinator also assists with maintaining the overall event calendar, tracking requests, managing space reservations, and supporting off-site and community events.

The Event Coordinator will be responsible for logistical setup and teardown, managing event materials, vendor communication, and providing comprehensive day-of-event assistance, all aimed at ensuring seamless event delivery and high attendee satisfaction. Garmin values a team-focused attitude and encourages continuous improvement in event processes, aspiring to make each event more efficient and engaging than the last.

This position requires a candidate who can physically handle the demands of event setup and teardown, including lifting up to fifty-five pounds, and is available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and strong communication skills are essential for this role, as well as a valid driver’s license for local travel related to supporting events. Garmin International offers a dynamic work environment that values diversity, innovation, and inclusion, providing employees with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

The Event Coordinator position offers a unique chance to join a globally influential company in a supportive role that directly impacts the success and vibrancy of Garmin's internal community and event operations. For those who enjoy hands-on work, collaborating with diverse teams, and ensuring high-quality event execution, this role offers both challenge and reward in equal measure.
