Job Description
Rhino Staging is a leading provider of professional stagehands and crew support for live entertainment events across the United States. Founded in 1991 with a mission to do things right and treat people well, Rhino Staging has established itself as a trusted company specializing in delivering highly skilled, safe, and punctual stagehand labor for concerts, festivals, theatrical performances, corporate events, and various other live programs. With decades of experience and a commitment to integrity, safety, and professional development, Rhino Staging serves a broad client base, working with some of the largest production companies and venues nationwide, including the prestigious Frost Amphitheater in the greater San Jose area.
The company prides itself on pioneering positive changes in the entertainment industry while fostering a healthy work environment and ensuring employee growth. Rhino Staging is known for providing the safest and most proficient stage crews, combining deep expertise with an ethos centered on quality service and client satisfaction. Its workforce includes general and skilled stagehands who play vital roles behind the scenes in creating successful live event experiences.
The role of General & Skilled Stagehand at Rhino Staging involves supporting various live events such as concert tours, festivals, and other performances with essential labor and technical assistance. These positions are seasonal and operate on an on-call, as-needed basis (W-2 employment), which means that working hours may vary and can include nights, weekends, and holidays. There is no set minimum number of hours each week or month, providing flexibility but also requiring availability and readiness to respond quickly to labor needs.
Stagehands are critical to the smooth operation of live events, handling tasks that include loading and unloading equipment, assembling stages and rigging, managing cables and lighting setups, and assisting with the overall logistical coordination necessary for event execution. Working in sometimes physically demanding environments, stagehands must be capable of handling weighty equipment and performing various physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
Candidates ideally should have some prior experience in live event production with open availability, though Rhino Staging is committed to providing training for well-qualified applicants who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude. Communication skills in English are essential to ensure safe and effective interaction with coworkers and supervisors in potentially fast-paced, dynamic settings. The company emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and adaptability given the varying conditions of event work, which can take place both indoors and outdoors.
Rhino Staging offers an opportunity to be part of an industry-leading company known not only for its expertise but also for its dedication to workplace safety and employee respect. Joining the team means contributing to memorable entertainment experiences, serving top-tier live event clients, and enhancing one's skills in a vibrant and ever-evolving field. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Reliable transportation and readiness to comply with company policies regarding attire and conduct are also essential.
Overall, this position is ideal for individuals passionate about live entertainment, eager to work in a collaborative and high-energy environment, and seeking flexible, seasonal employment within a reputable organization that values safety and professionalism.
