Job Description

Zero Gravity Basketball is recognized as the largest basketball tournament operator on the East Coast, boasting a strong presence across 26 states and orchestrating over 175 dynamic events annually. As a key player in the sports event industry, Zero Gravity Basketball specializes in delivering top-tier basketball tournament experiences with professionalism and exceptional customer service. The company is also a proud member of the 3 Step Sports LLC family, a collaborative network known for managing over 1,000 events every year, which highlights the brand's commitment to growth, quality, and expansive reach.

Operating within the competitive sports event landscape, Zero Gravity Basketball thrives on the enthusiasm and dedication of its team members, particularly part-time Weekend Event Staff who play a pivotal role in the company's continued success. This opportunity is ideal for energetic and sports-minded individuals eager to develop their careers within the fast-paced sporting events industry. The Weekend Event Staff position serves as an entry point to the industry, with ample opportunities for growth and internal promotions. The company values employees with strong work ethics and a passion for basketball and sports management.

The Site Director role within the Weekend Event Staff is crucial for the seamless execution of the tournaments. Acting as the main liaison on site, the Site Director manages a variety of responsibilities that ensure all aspects of the event are handled efficiently and professionally. These include entering scores into the tournament platform, addressing questions from participants and attendees, and managing social media by posting high-quality videos and photos to enhance event visibility and engagement. The Site Director also plays a critical role in financial management, overseeing cash handling procedures and completing necessary reconciliation paperwork. Additionally, the role involves reporting injuries, handling equipment, and maintaining excellent communication with coaches, referees, facility staff, and customers to resolve any conflicts and maintain smooth tournament operations.

A strong emphasis is placed on leadership and organizational skills, as the Site Director is responsible for supervising other Weekend Event Staff, ensuring courts run on time, and collaborating closely with the Tournament Director regarding any major issues or updates. The role requires dedication during peak tournament seasons, specifically from mid-March through mid-June in the spring and from late September to early November in the fall. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain extensive experience in sports event management and to build a career in a thriving sector with a company that supports employee development and internal advancement.
