Job Description

Kona Ice is a vibrant and innovative 100 percent mobile frozen dessert company committed to spreading fun and giving back to communities across Utah and Salt Lake City counties. As a pioneer in the mobile dessert industry, Kona Ice uses brightly colored trucks to serve its crafted shave ice, hand-dipped ice cream, and beverages at a variety of local events such as schools, sports tournaments, festivals, concerts, and corporate gatherings. Established with the mission to not only provide delicious frozen treats but also to foster community connections, Kona Ice has grown into a beloved brand known for its lively, family-friendly atmosphere and dedication to customer engagement. The company prides itself on creating an enjoyable work environment that combines independence with teamwork, making it an ideal place for those who are enthusiastic about bringing smiles and memorable experiences to people of all ages.

The role offered by Kona Ice is a full-time, seasonal position perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and fun setting. This position requires motivated and charismatic individuals aged 18 or older who possess a positive attitude and a desire to interact with a diverse customer base. As part of the team, employees will operate mobile units, serving delicious frozen desserts and beverages while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The job includes flexible hours, primarily covering evenings, weekends, and some holidays, with time off ensured on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Compensation is competitive, with hourly wages ranging from $15 to $16 plus tips, which can increase total earnings up to $18 to $20 per hour. This makes the role attractive for college students, teachers, or anyone looking for supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Additionally, Kona Ice employees benefit from paid training, referral programs, bonuses, and advancement opportunities, fostering both personal and professional growth within the company.

Working at Kona Ice means embracing a unique employment experience where no two days are the same. Employees get to engage directly with community members, creating a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere at events while independently managing their work area on the truck. Beyond this, there are chances to cross-train with sister companies like Travelin Tom's beverages and Beverly Anns cookies and ice cream trucks, expanding skills and job variety. Ideal candidates are dependable, team-oriented, teachable, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently under sometimes busy conditions. Having a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential, highlighting the mobile nature of the job. While towing or warehouse experience is a plus and could lead to higher pay, it is not required. Ultimately, working with Kona Ice offers a rewarding opportunity to be part of a community-centered company that values fun, flexibility, and customer satisfaction, making every day a different adventure.
