Job Description
GGP Parks is a leading organization dedicated to providing exceptional recreational and cultural experiences through vibrant parks, public programs, and community events. Committed to fostering a welcoming environment, GGP Parks manages a variety of venues that serve diverse audiences and support local engagement through its special events, festivals, concerts, and community-based programming. The organization is known for its commitment to operational excellence, safety, guest satisfaction, and community enrichment, aligning with the values and legacy of the George Kaiser Family Foundation. The parks have become integral to the community, offering spaces where people of all ages can gather, celebrate, and enjoy a rich array of cultural and recreational activities.
The position of Event Specialist at GGP Parks plays a crucial role in upholding these standards by supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of high-quality events. Under the guidance of the Special Events Manager, the Event Specialist oversees logistical coordination for a variety of programs including special events, festivals, concerts, performances, markets, fitness sessions, rentals, and community-focused initiatives. This role ensures that all events are aligned with facility policies, safety mandates, accessibility, and the organization’s brand standards, guaranteeing a seamless and enjoyable experience for both the guests and the community partners involved. The Event Specialist is responsible for cross-functional collaboration, vendor and partner communications, on-site event management, and post-event evaluations, guaranteeing each event meets the operational benchmarks and enhances the organization's reputation.
This full-time position requires expertise in event logistics, stakeholder coordination, and program development, alongside administrative tasks including registrations, contract processing, and database management. The role also demands the ability to perform emergency operational support, manage inventory, and adhere strictly to safety and quality protocols. Working closely with multiple teams and external partners, the Event Specialist applies strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills to successfully manage simultaneous projects within a fast-paced environment. Given the nature of park operations and event scheduling, flexibility in working varied hours including holidays, weekends, nights, and extended shifts is expected.
By joining GGP Parks as an Event Specialist, candidates have the opportunity to contribute to a respected organization that prioritizes community engagement and experience. This role not only fosters dynamic event programming but also supports the foundational vision of connecting people through meaningful public spaces and collaborative experiences. With a supportive management structure and a vibrant team-oriented culture, the Event Specialist position offers a pathway to professional growth for those passionate about event management, community programming, and contributing to the cultural fabric of the region.
